Just think.  If every family in Bennettsville and Marlboro County spent just an extra $10 each month at home with our local businesses, money would flow directly into our local economy; schools, roads, law enforcement, fire protection, rescue squads, streets, beautification, parks, recreation, entertainment, new businesses, and more industry.  We're talking millions of dollars each year.  WOW!  What a boost to us all.  Think about it.

PARKING PUTS MONEY IN YOUR BUSINESS

The latest facts and figures on downtown parking spaces has been released.  Store-front parking spaces, according to a national survey, are worth $30,000 each year (based on five customers each day). The average amount of expenditure per customer each day is $20.  Do the math.

If you, as a business owner/manager are parking in front of your business or your employees are parking there, IT IS COSTING YOU MONEY.  With economic times as tight as they are, you must take advantage of everything to draw customers into your business.  Make it easy for them to park and enter.

The Bennettsville Downtown Development Association (BDDA) held it's monthly meeting on November 28th. The meeting purpose was to review the Association's strategic plan and to formulate a new one. The Board developed plans to take the Association through 2019, the 200th anniversary of Bennettsville. Norma Wiess, shown above, from the National Main Street Center in Washington, DC led the discussions and helped formulate the plans.
